Eads Hall, A Hidden History

Eads Hall may seem ordinary at first glance, but behind its unassuming exterior lies a fascinating history, showcasing its role as a vibrant center for innovation and intellectual discovery at Washington University in St. Louis. Eads Hall is known as a humanities building; however, its history and impact is so much more than that. Some students, including myself, are guilty of naming some of the classes there as “the dungeon” because of its old and ancient ambiance. From Studios and Recitations to Urdu Lectures, the basement of Eads Hall is out-of-style. Let's explore some of the hidden history of Eads Hall, and why looking back to history, Eads was and is much more than just a dungeon-like, humanities building.
